  Provides short-term detention for juveniles charged with committing a serious criminal violation or sentenced by the Morris County Family Court for a maximum of 60 days
  
  Houses up to 43 residents, both male and female, generally aged between 12 and 18
  
  Staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  
  Provides medical and psychological services
  
  Goals:

  • To provide secure custody for the juveniles remanded to it
  • To minimize the potentially damaging effects of confinement
  • To meet the needs of juveniles through education, recreation, religious and social opportunities

  Provides transitional care until permanent placement is arranged for adolescents determined by a family court judge to be "in crisis"
  
  Constructs individual plans with DYFS, Probation, local school districts and other community agencies to address problem areas identified by the court
  
  Length of stay based time it takes to create and activate an individual's plan
  
  Length of stay is typically less than 30 days but can be longer
  
  Staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by counselors specializing in adolescence
  
  Provides medical and psychological services
  
  Provides services to more than 100 adolescents and their families annually
